Influence of copper content and thermal treatment on shape memory effect in rapidly quenched TiNiCu alloys

Amorphous alloys of the TiNi - TiCu system with a copper content 25 to 40 at.% were prepared by planar flow casting at melt cooling rate 106 K/s. Crystallization was carried out isothermal annealing and action single electric pulse duration 5 ms. Shape memory behavior structure investigated means bending tests X-ray phase analysis. It found that increasing above 30 considerably reduces plasticity shape effect alloys. However, abrupt decreasing significantly improves performance due prevention formation brittle Ti-Cu phases in structure.
